Taking into account that e-commerce is very much in trend due to the pandemic and obtaining products is becoming easier, it is also important to see the other side; according to consumers one of the products that are more difficult to move online are perfumes, makeup, supermarket products and clothing because in terms of cosmetics the customer has the need to test their senses of smell when buying a perfume, the makeup to see if not generates allergic reaction or if it is to your liking (e.g the tone of the foundation matches correctly with your skin), in terms of supermarket products make sure that the product comes in good condition (e.g expiration date of the milk) and clothes that the size is correct (e.g not reduced or too big).
ResponderBorrarAccording to my experience, the most important aspects that I consider is if the website where I will order the product is reliable, that the shipment of the product is not late, make a price comparison in different online stores and choose the best option.
I believe that the Millennial generation and the X generation are just beginning to accept e-commerce because they were so used to buying things in physical stores, but due to the health issue of COVID-19 for their greater security they are considering ordering online so as not to cause crowds in physical stores and are realizing how easy and fast the product is arriving with a single click.

I feel like the products that would be difficult to get online are all the selfcare products, like makeup, shower products like soap, shampoos, chap sticks, facemasks, hairbrushes toothpaste etc. the things we use in our day-to-day life. In my personal experience these products are the ones I remember to get when I am at the store and I see them, like you don’t know you need them until you see them physically, and then you have so many options to choose from.
BorrarWhen I buy stuff online I think reviews and pictures are very important, since you can get an idea of how the product really is or looks in real life, I don’t think older generations are accepting this new type of formats, because even though getting out of your house to go in a store and select from a bunch of items sounds like boring, or that you will take a lot of time on the trip, it is more practical, and you can assure that what you are getting is exactly what you want or need.

BorrarI believe the last hurdle online shopping will cross will be furniture shopping. Why? Simply because of the way people usually decide on which furniture to buy, which is by trying it, visualizing it, feeling it and physically being there to spot the differences in each one. This applies to many different types of furnitures, for example, beds, chairs, tables, sofas, closets, nightstands, etc. For me this makes total sense, it’s simply easier and way more practical to buy furniture on a physical store so you don’t have to go through the trouble of getting a furniture that is uncomfortable or doesn’t match what you expected. Of course this doesn’t mean it’s impossible to sell furniture online, some people may prefer to check on thousands of options from the commodity of their bed, plus it does bring many more variety. What is actually a common practice is going to try the products and finding them online for a better price. One thing to take note of course is the difference between older and younger generations, being the older generations the ones that don’t usually accustom to buy this products online contrary to younger generations which was registered in the United States that millennials from (25-34 years of age), 33% bought at least one furniture online in 2014. I would say sooner or later this sector will turn into more a more online market but for it to turn completely it could take a while.

BorrarB) As a consumer, when you are buying online what aspects to consider are important in order to buy a product. Do you consider older generations are accepting these new formats of selling or are still buying traditionally?
When I’m buying online personally the first team I check is how formal, professional and official it is. I check of how many people are using it, if people I trust recommended to me and if big companies or influential people are recommending it, I know it’s not the best way to check if a page it’s not a scam but I the best ways I can think how to do it. Then I check the quality, the price and how long it would take to arrive. I personally like that online stores give a lot of paying options too.
Around 2010, I would say that older generations prefer buying traditionally because services online was a new thing to them, and just like social media they don’t really trust it or even get how to use it, and less if it comes to spending money. But in recent years, maybe now than ever because of the pandemic, older generations use this online platforms as all the generations. All of us have to use it in one point of our lives, and now it is more complicated to try to sell or buy without it, they have to adapt to not get behind their competitors.

ResponderBorrarFor me one of the hardest products to move online are the jewelry market because you can’t identify if there are real or maybe their fake and also the watch market (Rolex, tag, etc.…) because if you want a watch or a jewel it’s better to go to a mall and buy it by yourself. One of things that I check is if the company that is going to sell me something is honest. I check the comments and if people says that the product is in good condition when they are delivered to your home. If I’m searching in a website famous like Amazon I just try to use Amazon prime that help you with the deliver time and price. Then I search for the thing that I like the most and I buy it. I think the older generations are accepting the format because in these moments we are in a pandemic so everything changes a lot and almost all companies added online service so it is much better for people around the world. Also there are some companies that didn’t change the way of selling and they have so much less purchases and maybe they already broke.

ResponderBorrarIn my consideration, I think definitely the most difficult companies to move completely online are sports clubs. It can be said that sports clubs are not real companies, but are managed as a company, so much so that there are clubs that are publicly traded such as 'AFC Ajax', 'Juventus', 'Celtic', 'Tottenham Hotspur', 'Lazio', 'Manchester United', and so on. We have seen that during the covid-19 pandemic, e-sports became stronger than ever, but they do not have that support that a football game or a soccer game has. In addition to that, during the confinement many sports teams have been really damaged by covid-19 because as there were no games to play, they have to find solutions such as cutting personnel or reducing the salary mass by paying less to some collaborators or, for example, 'La Liga MX 'organized a FIFA tournament, because it was the best social solution, but the profitability was lower than any other tournament in 10 years. Another example of the difficulty of moving sports teams completely online is that in the United States the most watched video game is League of Legends with 58 million viewers during the final, while the NFL (National Football League) has 124 million viewers in the superbowl .

Products, we use in our day-to-day life. We initially acquire them in physical form but by the birth of the internet things began to change and as it got more and more confidence from us it was a no-brainer when in one of the most disastrous years of humanity, if you ignore the most real cruel years of humanity, people were more lenient on this "eCommerce" and so everyone and their older peers could buy things online as if it were a normal setting. Older generations may not be the biggest consumer in the online realm but in a surprising turn of events, brought by Immersion Active, Boomers are willing to leap 66% reportedly make regular purchases via web devices, take this with a grain of salt because the information doesn't talk about what exact service or which platform, they could be paying water and electricity fees online for all we know and surveys indicate they incline to buy more from local stores and generally prefer them. However, one thing we never get is that there is no difference in age gaps when talking about the convenience the whole online commerce ordeal, we gravitate towards having things easier, at a click, since the dawn of man, to facilitate a heavy task we could only solve by sheer manpower. But not every industry has transitioned in the same way, for instance, the food services haven't been able to break through a normal eCommerce website like Amazon, not that they should but delivery drivers are the main force for food exchanges, if you want to buy food on Amazon you'll only get sealed food like candy, coffee grain, and baked beans. They have their own way of working but it's still eCommerce, unlike healthcare products like medicine, cosmetics, and vehicles, we have the notion that things like this bought on the internet involve some kind of risk and they definitely do, you can't buy cars of Amazon but you can on eBay and other alternatives, even official dealerships that do offer delivery believe it or not, but you can't stop and get the feeling that something's fishy or there's some shady business going on, same with medicine and cosmetics. For cars it's easier to call get visual proof that you aren't buying into a scam, you wouldn't buy it online specially in a global pandemic, it may work but it's far too early to pinpoint a major app or brand that is changing things up. For cosmetics, people prefer to go to stores and try them. With medicine, you first need to go to a checkup, which you might get online, subsequently buy them, and if the FDA and the NHS tell you its kind of dangerous on the top Google results when searching "buying medicine online" then don't go to and later complain they didn't warn you.

I feel that the most difficult product to buy online are mirrors and glass artifacts because they are very fragile and with any movement or anything they put on it it can break. My mom has asked for wine glasses and crystal items several times and 50% of the time all the products have arrived damaged.
To be exported, these products have to be packaged in a certain way and it is very complicated.
This is an example that the shipping company suggest you can pack your cups of glass :
Put them in a cardboard box to prevent them from moving during transit.
Cover larger glass items with moving blankets and secure with tape or string.
Please wait for the courier to collect your shipment.
And yet they don't assure you that it won't break

I do think older generations have adapt correctly through the years. They have learn how to use technology and adapt every product to the new technology. Even tho Younger generations are more comfortable with using the Internet, searching for information, and using digital communication tools like e-mail and social media
When I buy online I consider:
The price
Shipping price
If it’s something I can buy on the store y rather go to the store and try it on
If the product convenient yo me

ResponderBorrarI believe that there are many important aspects when buying online because you are trusting someone who runs a site to get you the product or service that you ask for and for me the most important aspects are:
Borrar• Information on pricing and shipping; I believe it´s very important to know the price, delivery options, the payment methods and the money back guarantee you have before even considering buying something online, because if you don’t make sure the process is reliable it can all result on a bad experience.
• Reading Customer Reviews; I think this helps a lot because people give their honest opinion about what they get and it would help you determine the quality of the product or service.
• Quality rating, this can help you to be aware of the condition of the product that is being sold and if it is worth buying.
I consider that past generations are accepting these changes because I think they realize that things are always in constant change and then they have to adapt to it in order to keep learning and growing, and of course there are people who prefer the old methods because they may feel that it is safer, but still I feel that the majority is trying to learn about the new ways of doing things and even more with the new reality that we live in.

ResponderBorrarA) Which are the companies or products that you feel are the hardest to move complete online and why?
Shopping online has made our life easier. You can browse through the merchandise of thousands of stores and comparison shop until you are exhausted. Some days, the possibilities do seem endless. If you choose, you can survive entirely on items purchased online. That's not to say that everything you want to own can be bought through ecommerce, sometimes it can be legally restricted or it just doesn’t feel right to buy them online.
For example, guns are a quite difficult product to sell online due to the requirement of a licence for you to own one and the various regulations there are. Another example may be products sold exclusively to adults like tobacco related products or alcohol, thanks to the easy accesability that anyone would have to buy these products and because it is so easy to fake information online, this could cause serious addiction problems to kids who are able to trespass those filters. Lastly, I think that the products that will never really a 100% convert to ecommerce are the cosmetics ones, like perfumes, makeup and even some clothes. I strongly believe this because appart from the product they are selling you an experience, it is not the same to buy a fancy dress that you saw online for prom that to go shopping through various shops, try several dresses and walk out the store with your fancy new acquisition. What I’m trying to say is that the experince that this kind of things grant you is sometimes as important as the product itself.

The question I'm going to answer for today's forum is, "When you are buying online, what aspects to consider are important to buy a product? Do you consider older generations are accepting these new formats of selling or are still buying traditionally?"
ResponderBorrarAccording to Opragen Health, there are six main aspects to consider to buy online, but I'm just going to tell the main ones in my opinion.
The authenticity of online shopping. The number of online websites increased per day, and unfortunately, some people create false websites to take advantage of people.
Safety of payment method. You have to make sure that the website is authentic and has a real identity, so after this, you can share your credit card number.
Shipping. Make sure you type your address correctly.
Customer reviews. Always read the comments people send. These will help you to get a new perception of what you are buying. Also, you can find out if the product you want is of quality, or if any other customers had have any problems with shipping.
Now, after sharing these main aspects, I think older generations still like buying traditionally. Let me explain why. They have this habit of years and years of going to the supermarket or store to buy something, and by older generations, I mean people from 80 onwards. And I'm not saying they don't want to buy online, is just that is more difficult for them because of the technology. So people beyond this age like more buying online because they are saving time and effort, and most of them can understand today's new advances in technology.

A) I would say that they are some products or services that could be sell completely online, but as well they are some products that can’t be sell online because ether you want to try them or know how it looks on you or how those it smells. One product that I think it would be extremely difficult to be sell completely online are the lotions and perfumes because when you want to buy one of those usually you want to know how those it smells like, another product that will be complicated to move completely online could be the clothing because even if it is a product that have good sells online there are still many persons who prefer to buy it in the store so they can try it on them and see if it really fits them.
ResponderBorrarB) I always try to consider while I’m buying online to check the reviews of the product I’m buying because sometimes the product might see okey but when you check the reviews of other customers you can see whether the product is worth buying or not. I don’t think that all the older generations are accepting this new format of selling, but with the arrival of the pandemic it become something necessary for some products.

ResponderBorrarWhich are the companies or products that you feel are the hardest to move complete online and why?
I feel like any Company that sells vehicles is going to have a hard time selling their products, this can be for many reasons:
1. The costumers usually like to see, feel, or even test the vehicle they are buying.
2. It is an expensive thing to buy online without seeing it first.
3. You can’t return a vehicle like you can return a phone or something else.
This, however, has a solution. Let’s say a car company wants to have both physical and online stores, people could go to the physical store to both see and test the car and then can place the order online or can pre investigate models online and then go to the physical store to complete the purchase. In my eyes this is a transition for car companies to go completely online, but I don’t see that happening in the near future.
As a consumer, when you are buying online what aspects to consider are important in order to buy a product.
When I am buying a product online, I mainly look for information and pictures. Since I am not physically in the store, I want to know all of the features and data of the product, and I want to see a lot of high-quality pictures of it. And one big factor is being able to return the product if one does not like it, it doesn’t fit, etc.
Reference: I did not use any references.
Which are the companies or products that you feel are the hardest to move complete online and why?
ResponderBorrarI would argue the hardest thing to buy on an online stores such as amazon or mercado libre, alibaba etc.
is defenetly fine jewerly and there is a couple reasons for that, the first one would be without a doubt the dificullty to check the authenticity of the rocks, crystals and prexious metals we usually find in a fine jewerly store such as gold, dimonds or rubies and that brings along the second reason, because when you are making such a huge investment like buying jewerly you need to be absolutly sure that it looks good in person as well and it goes well with your clothes, body type etc.., my third and finally reason is the security aspect of it, at the moment of moving the fine jewerly we have 2 options the first one being spending lots and lots of money in security and second one leave with low security with risk of someone steeling it .thats why in my personal opinion fine jewerly is in the top of my very own personal list of "must not" when we are speaking about online shopping.

E-commerce
Since the boom of internet and the creation of different internet sites like eBay or Amazon, this has been one of the most important tools around the world and with the years we have notice this more, from researching to buying, this last one with the situation we have been in it has been of big importance, buying on line is something that we experiment more everyday, the situation of buying what you want, at the hour you want, from where you want is the best feeling you can have.
This boom was principally because of the pandemic situation we’re living in, today in Mexico a study informs that the 62% of the people make their shopping on internet and recieve their products in their home, other study presented that the e-commerce business have been growing, the 17% of them have grow between 1% and 49%, 8% between 50% and 99%, other 17% between 100% and 199%, 13% between 200% and 299% and finally a 24% more than a 300%.
But for the consumer not everything was that easy, at the beginning was a little difficult, this because of the fidelity, today in internet because of the continue growing there’re a lot of big scams, but still with the time the people have been trying to adapt to this format, more the old people, still if you consider some aspects before buying your products you will not have any problem, aspects like the payment method, checking the deliver methods, old clients commentaries or checking the term and conditions.
Finally e-commerce is something that is better for both, consumer and client, so meanwhile internet keeps growing, e-commerce will do it also, more with the new generations that are really into it.

ResponderBorrarWhen buying online it is essential to take into account all those important aspects to have a clear idea about what I want to buy, so I consider that the main aspects that we must take into account when buying online are the following:
Product: I must know which product or service I would like to buy.
The brand: it is important to take into account the quality I am looking for in a product in order to find the brand that can adapt to sell you the quality product you are looking for.
Payment: you must take into account how much you want to invest in the product and you must also investigate the payment methods that the business can provide.
Aspect: You should take a lot of attention when choosing to buy online, because depending on the quality and visual aspect of the online store you can determine if your products are viable with the naked eye or not.
Reviews: All buyers who have had a good or bad experience at the time of purchasing the product will write their review or experience in the comments section. That is why it is one of the most important aspects that you should consult before buying your product online.
I think the older generations are accepting online shopping as it’s easier and almost takes you no time, although there will be people who will be trouble by new technology and prefer to shop traditionally in physical stores.
Dimitrova, D. (2018, 5 febrero). Things Customers Consider When Buying Online | Opragen Health. Opragen Health |. https://www.opragen.co.uk/things-customers-consider-buying-online/
As a consumer, when I am buying online the aspects that I consider are: that it is an official and safe page so that it is not a scam, the comparison of the price online and the price at which it is in a physical store, the quality of the product, the reviews and opinions of people who have already bought it, delivery time, shipping cost, shipping security, personal data security, financial data security, cancellation, return or exchange conditions.
ResponderBorrarI believe that most people of the older generations do not fully accept this new online shopping and sales system since it is way more difficult for them to use technology and they do not trust this method for the same fact that they are not used to it and don't really know how to. But not because most people of the older generations do not accept it does not mean that none of them accept it, for example, thanks to this pandemic we have had to find new ways to continue buying and selling and I am sure that the older people it is in their best interest to do their grocery shopping at home and online for your health and comfort so this has caused people who did not know how to do it to learn.

In my opinion, the most difficult items to sell online would be animals, cars, medicines, among others, but why? These articles are articles that if you do not see them in person or do not try them, you could not trust them, the example of medicine is since a medicine is something that you ingest in your body and you could not know that what you are ingesting is really What they are selling you and this could be something dangerous for your body, a pet likewise cannot confirm if it will arrive if it will arrive as they told you it was since it can arrive in other conditions.
ResponderBorrarWhen I am buying online the first thing I base myself on is whether the page is trustworthy or not and this could be since there are many pages today that their only objective is to steal from their customers, the other thing that I would look at would be In the feedback of people, I mean how they have received their product and if it is in good condition or not, but this does not mean that buying things online is bad since online shopping has made our lives easier in many ways, a great example It was right now in the pandemic that as we could not get out, our only way to obtain a product that we want would be online and we would fix the problem of getting infected when we went out to buy it. In summary, buying online is not a bad thing but you have to know what things are worth buying online and which ones are better to see first.
I think that a difficult product to sell online is makeup because most makeup comes in shades, and if you have never bought that brand of products, it is difficult to know what shade of makeup you are because it does not look the same in the photos that they put. in your online store than viewing the products physically in stores.
ResponderBorrarToday it is difficult to sell in the global sales market because the economy fell with the pandemic that we are going through globally today. Unfortunately, it all depends on the economy, if there is no money, there are no jobs, if there are no jobs, there is no electricity, no food, no water ...
I believe that today it is easier to buy online thanks to the technology that is advancing day by day, but I feel that also buying things online is a risk because unfortunately there are already many people who scam you and many times, we do not realize it that they are ripping us off.
I believe that the generations before me are accepting the new sales formats because today it is much easier than before.
Nowadays they are adapting but my generation and the generations after me already know how to handle things that have technology very easily since they are very young, but generations for example the generations of our parents are adapting to online shopping with the new sales formats currently, but over time they will get hold of technology and everything.

As a consumer, when you are buying online what aspects to consider are important in order to buy a product. Do you consider older generations are accepting these new formats of selling or are still buying traditionally?
ResponderBorrarI consider that some of the most important aspects in order to buy a a product are: Product quality,
It is important that the product meets the expectations of the customer so that a good image of the brand is carried. Avoid additional expenses, I mean to be clear about what I want and / or need.
Ease of making returns, by not being able to test the products, sometimes I need to be sure that I can return it in case when they have received them it is not as I expected, in case of a garment it does not fit. Opinions and ratings of other customers, I think we all like to know if the website where we are buying has a very bad reputation or if there are complaints that it takes time to send, etc. Visual search function, I have always thought that sight and smell are an important factor when shopping. If they offer me an attractive product, my chances of buying it will increase.Rewarding digital and mobile experience, digitization has been so strong in the sales sector that it is essential to have a website, to help me facilitate my purchase. Making it easier for the client to navigate the web is essential so that they do not get lost, bored or overwhelmed. Furthermore, in a society in which practically all citizens have a mobile phone, they have to be very aware of this type of device when implementing their marketing strategies. And I could go on talking about the thousands of aspects but these are some that I consider in my shopping day.
And lastly I think that most of the aspect our current generation consider in order to bay a product are the same aspects older generations consider to, because a product is a product, and quality y quality, but obviously some aspect will change over the time pass, because of the trendings and fashion in each generation.

BorrarA) Which are the companies or products that you feel are the hardest to move complete online and why?
ResponderBorrarWith this question I’m in between two types of companies because of the size of the product or because we don’t know if the merch is real or fake and they can even sell it in higher prizes. I think the companies that have products that are hard to sell are the ones that sell clothes because they have different sizes of clothes and they have a lot of refunds because the people who are buying online don’t have chance to try the clothes and they buy clothes that aren’t their size and it doesn’t fit on them and different types of bodies also affect the product because there’s skinny clothes that doesn’t fit on a person who uses size s.
Other stores that are difficult to sell online are the sneakers stores because there’s a lot of fake brand and they sell them like if they are real like on the same price or even higher price. This are the reasons I think they have problem selling stuff online.

From my point of view I consider that there are a number of products that are complicated to move completely online. Let's start with cosmetics or fragrances. As for cosmetics you generally like to know how a lipstick looks on your lips or how a blush looks on your skin; you can't buy this kind of things just because you like them because there are shades of colors that even if you like them maybe they are not the ones that are going to look good on you. The same happens with perfumes, these have very particular fragrances that you cannot smell from the virtual world (at least technology has not reached there), and it is also very important to appreciate if you like the smell of the fragrance you are looking for or not. Finally, not to extend myself any further, I consider that another product that you could not move completely to e-commerce is shoes. I believe this because it will never be the same to buy a shoe in a physical store than in a virtual one. Many times brands change their sizes or what you may know as a size 7 in Adidas, may be a size 5 in Converse. Likewise, I am a true believer that when buying shoes, you should measure them and make sure they are comfortable and comfortable. As consumers I believe that the main aspects to consider when buying a product online is that there is Availability of Free Shipping, ease of use, available payment methods and safety, that there is an online indentity, the return and refund policy, and online reviews of the costumers. Finally, to conclude with this answer, I believe that the older generations are accepting this new format of selling, since it is a way that facilitates your shopping method and also saves you the time of going to the store and looking for what you are looking for. However, it doesn't mean that they don't still buy in the traditional way, it would depend more on the taste of each person.
